Insuring headaches

So, you need some new car insurance, what do you do?

Log onto one of those price comparison websites of course! Oh hang on, wrong country.

Here, we usually find one and stick with it no matter how much money they charge. That’s partly because you always had to go down to their offices and wait forever in order to get a quote. By then you’ve lost the will to live.

This year, I decided to be sensible and get 3 quotes.

1) Qatar Insurance Company.

These are the guys I’ve been insured with since I arrived, and talk about the 21st century, these guys now say you can get your quote online!

So online I went, filled in the form, and guess what?!

They never responded. What a surprise.

I tried ringing too, but apparently they’re all deaf.

2) Al Khaleej Takaful Insurance.

These guys are also hard of hearing:

Ring ring. Ring ring. Ring ring. Nothing

An hour later:

Ring ring. Ring ring. Ring ring.

The next day

Ring ring. Ring ring. Ring ring.

I gave up. I can hardly go to their office if they won’t tell me where it is.

3) Libano-Suisse Insurance (44664406)

I was shocked.

Firstly they answered the phone!

And then they actually gave me a quote!

I nearly fell off my chair!

They even managed to insure me for the following day – BY EMAIL! I’ve never know efficiency like it!

I didn’t quite manage my three quotes, but I think I was probably being a bit ambitious anyway. I managed one out of three, and I’m quite happy with that, at least I’m insured now! And if you saw the driving you’d realise how vital that is…
