The Industrial Centre

My car has been making strange noises over the past few days (or actually over a month if I’m honest). Clearly the front right suspensions is not quite right. Now, obviously I’ve been doing my best ostrich impression and ignoring it, but whenever other people get in the car, they always make really alarmed noises, then try to get out and hail a taxi. After this happened for the third time, I thought I should get it fixed.

The trouble is that the Hyundai garage is in the Industrial Area and to get anywhere in the Industrial Area you need to have excellent suspension.

For those of you who don’t know, the Industrial Area is grim.

It’s been the same for the 4 years I’ve been here; all dug up with orange bollards separating one giant pothole from another,

broken cars and big puddles along the roadsides (odd when you’re in a desert).

You can be driving along quite happily when suddenly your entire car could fall down a hole. Ok, I might be exaggerating a little, but it’s certainly not the place to take a Coupe with dodgy suspension.

Added to this was the slight complication of a sandstorm. This made visibility worse than usual and camouflaged the potholes nicely. Not only that, but I navigate around  the area by this huge balloon thing that’s at the end of Street 16 where the Hyundai garage is. Could I find the balloon?! Nope. Not for love nor money.

The moral of the story: don’t go to the Industrial Area in a sandstorm. I’ll warn you when there’s one coming.
